Add new language
The primary language
field within the account fields set is populated from a global picklist of languages. To add a new language to the picklist, add the language in ISO code to the MED_Language
global picklist value set. If the language does not match one of the Salesforce language ISO codes, add a MIC Value Mapping entry to translate between a Salesforce user language and the new language value. This is required for the Work Instructions component.
To add a new language to tag an account's primary language:
Navigate to the Picklist Value Sets tab from Setup.
Click the hyperlinked Language global value set.
Click New.
Enter the new value of the unlisted language in ISO code matching the Salesforce language list.
Check the box for Add the new picklist values to all Record Types that use this Global Value Set.
Click Save.
If using Medical Information Cloud Content Management as a document repository, add the new language value to the Language field on Medical Information Cloud Content Management documents:
Navigate to the Fields & Relationships tab on the Document Version custom object.
From Setup, click Object Manager.
Click Document Version.
Click Fields & Relationships.
Click the hyperlinked Language field.
In the Values section, click New.
Enter the new language value to exactly match the value entered in the
MED_Language
global picklist value set.Click Save
If using Veeva Vault as a document repository, ensure the new language is a value in Veeva Vault and add a CMS value mapping on the CMS field mapping for language.
